The Distrust In The Military
My time in the US Army was easily one of the most rewarding experiences I will ever have in my life; it forced me to mature quicker than I may have wanted to, it enabled me to travel and enjoy a small portion of what the world offers, and it helped me to find something I was truly passionate about in development. Even with all of the good things that came about from that experience, the fact is that there is quite a bit about the military culture that isn't as great as people would like to believe. A recent story going around the internet highlights one of the issues plaguing the military service; a distrust of those you serve with.

So, I have a confession to make. When I left my house last week to head to Cancun, I wasn't sure how I would feel about the trip or being at the Joomla! World Conference for many reasons. My nerves were running on high, I was in a mild panic struggling to write one of my presentations, and just all in all I just was not comfortable with what was in front of me. Luckily, most of those doubts and nerves were silenced within hours and I can say that this event was hands down my absolute favorite of the many I've attended in the last few years.
Closing This Chapter - My Time on PLT
After a two year stint as a member of Joomla's Production Leadership Team, a time filled with many ups and downs and sleepless nights, it's time for me to end this chapter of my life, and on November 26 I will be doing just that.
